Monument Engraver Needed

I received an E-mail a week or two ago that I thought I should share with all of my blogging friends. It is just one more example of how we are losing an important battle. We just can't afford to let the next generation grow up without God as part of everyday life. I just can't see how keeping Him out of ANY public settings deprives Atheists. All they have to do is---don't look! Our country was born with Christian underpinnings, and it should stay that way. "One nation, under God" should stay in our pledge, "In God we trust" should stay on our currency, and these four words should be engraved and STAY where President Roosevelt had them!

SHALL WE HIRE A MONUMENT ENGRAVER TO GO TO ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY AND ADD THE MISSING
WORDS ?

A MESSAGE FROM AN APPALLED
OBSERVER:

Today I went to visit the new World War II Memorial in Washington, DC. I got an unexpected history lesson. Because I'm a baby boomer, I was one of the youngest in the crowd. Most were the age of my parents, Veterans of 'the greatest war,' with their families. It was a beautiful day, and people were smiling and happy to be there. Hundreds of us milled around the memorial, reading the inspiring words of Eisenhower and Truman that are engraved there.

On the Pacific side of the memorial, a group of us gathered to read the words President Roosevelt used to announce the attack on Pearl Harbor:

Yesterday, December 7, 1941-- a date which will live in infamy--the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked.

One elderly woman read the words aloud:

'With confidence in our armed forces, with the abounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph.'

But as she read, she was suddenly turned angry. 'Wait a minute,' she said, 'they left out the end of the quote.. They left out the most important part. Roosevelt ended the message with 'so help us God.'

Her husband said, 'You are probably right. We're not supposed to say things like that now.'

'I know I'm right,' she insisted. 'I remember the speech.' The two looked dismayed, shook their heads sadly and walked away.

Listening to their conversation, I thought to myself, Well, it has been over 50 years she's probably forgotten.'

But she had not forgotten. She was right.

I went home and pulled out the book my book club is reading --- 'Flags of Our Fathers' by James Bradley. It's all about the battle at Iwo Jima .
I haven't gotten too far in the book. It's tough to read because it's a graphic description of the WWII battles in the Pacific.

But right there it was on page 58. Roosevelt's speech to the nation ends in 'so help us God.'

The people who edited out that part of the speech when they engraved it on the memorial could have fooled me. I was born after the war.! But they couldn't fool the people who were there. Roosevelt's words are engraved on their hearts.

Now I ask: 'WHO GAVE THEM THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE WORDS OF HISTORY?????????'

Send this around to your friends. People need to know before everyone forgets. People today are trying to change the history of America by leaving God out of it, but the truth is, God has been a part of this nation, since the beginning. He still wants to be...and He always will be!

If you agree, pass this on and God Bless YOU!

If not, May God Forgive You!

A short trip through Google Land, and I found the entire speech, which I share with you now, so that you may see for yourselves that this E-mail was accurate! Follow this link to this speech at American Rhetoric.com. It is also a good source if you need to find other speeches.

Mr. Vice President, Mr. Speaker, Members of the Senate, and of the House of Representatives:

Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 -- a date which will live in infamy -- the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific.

Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in the American island of Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleague delivered to our Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. And while this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or of armed attack.

It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time, the Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.

Yesterday, the Japanese government also launched an attack against Malaya.

Last night, Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.

Last night, Japanese forces attacked Guam.

Last night, Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.

Last night, the Japanese attacked Wake Island.

And this morning, the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday and today speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.

As commander in chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us.

No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost, but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us.

Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger.

With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph -- so help us God.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7th, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese empire.

Iraq SOFA clears first hurdle

BAGHDAD – Iraq's Cabinet overwhelmingly approved a security pact with the United States on Sunday, ending prolonged negotiations to allow American forces to remain for three more years in the country they first occupied in 2003.

The deal detailing the conditions of the U.S. presence still needs parliamentary approval, and lawmakers could vote as soon as Nov. 24. For Iraqis, the breakthrough was bittersweet because they won concessions from the Americans but must accept the presence of U.S. troops until 2012.

"It's the best possible, available option," said government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh. He was referring to the conflict between Iraq's desire for full sovereignty and control over security and its need for American support and cooperation to achieve that goal.

Al-Dabbagh described the pact — intended to supplant the U.N. mandate expiring Dec. 31 — as an "agreement on the withdrawal of U.S. troops," and Washington welcomed the Cabinet's approval.

It looks like we will have a Status of Forces Agreement with Iraq soon. There are a couple of more steps, but there should be no major problem now. We may have just averted a big problem. As of December 31st, we would have had no legal right to operate within Iraq and our troops would have been left in a very precarious position. This is the agreement that NObama had tried to kill until after Jan. 20th so that HE could take credit for it. I still think he should have been prosecuted for that! He could spend 3 years in jail for it, instead of spending 4 years as POTUS. Where in Hell is the justice??

The rest of the article can be found by following this link. Americans and Iraqis can breath a little easier now, thanks to a lot of hard work on both sides, mainly ours.

Just what is patriotism?

Just what is patriotism anyway? Well, I can show you one small example right here. Of course there are a million other examples, but the leftards would never understand. The new P.C. saying "I support our troops, but I don't support the war" does not count. That is not patriotism, that is bullshit. Please follow this link to see for yourself what some folks in Bangor, Maine do for the troops coming and going from their Airport. I have heard that the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area does the same thing. I know that countless other communities across our great country do the same thing, or at least I fervently hope so. Here is a peek at the article:

She and the other 40 or so members of the Maine Troop Greeters have made it their mission to welcome every incoming and outbound flight of soldiers and Marines who use Bangor International Airport as a refueling stop.

No matter what time of day or night, there will always be applause, handshakes and hugs to make the troops feel appreciated.

When a handshake won't do, some military men and women will reach out and just hug the person who came by to welcome them home.

Meeting the troops also tugs at the emotions of the greeters. "It's a good feeling," Guptill says. "Some days it's a tear-jerker."

After about an hour and a half on the ground, it's time for an outbound flight to take off and head to a war zone.

The greeters line up again to wish the soldiers well as they head up the ramp to the plane, thanking them for their service.

Guptill says if the war ended tomorrow it would be fine with them, but adds, "We'll do this until this thing ends."

I wish I lived closer, because you can bet your ass that I'd be right there with these OUTSTANDING CITIZENS, putting their money where their mouth is, so to speak. When the first gulf war was winding down, we in my hometown greeted every single vet coming home at the local VFW. There was absolutely no way we Vietnam and Korean vets were going to let happen to our younger brothers what happened to us. A few years ago, our local National Guard armory was tapped to send over more than 100 of our local citizens. You would be PROUD of the homecoming they got. If and when we get more local people coming home or going to the war zones, WE WILL be there for them! You can take that to the bank!

Oh, I almost forgot. We have a local hero that just went over to Iraq. He wrote back to the local newspaper that many in his unit didn't receive any mail, would our citizens like to "adopt" them and send letters? His entire unit now gets all the mail they can handle. As a vet, I can tell you that this is one of the most appreciated things you can do. Write to our brave troops and just let them know that someone back here actually gives a shit about them and what they do!! It will certainly make their day brighter, AND it will make your day better too! Talk about WIN/WIN! You don't know where to send a letter? Drop by your local American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars and ask, or use google to find a hundred units dying to get letters and "care packages", if you REALLY want to make someones day!!!

If I did this right, you should be able to scroll down and find a YouTube clip of my favorite John Michael Montgomery song. It is by far the best rendition you will find anywhere. I don't care how Macho you may think you are. If you really listen to the words and watch the video, you WILL get watery eyes. Do not come back and say I didn't warn you!

John Michael Montgomery - Letters From Home

Got your handkerchief or tissue ready? If not, go get it, you WILL need it. Listen to the words, watch the video, and then WRITE some letters!

God Bless the USA

Happy Veterans Day to everyone, especially my fellow vets, and most particularly to our current troops both in the war zones and anywhere else they may be stationed. Lest we forget, freedom has a price, a high price. The greatest country in the world is truely blessed to have people ready willing and able to stand tall when necessary to keep our freedom alive. And so it is on this day, the 11th day of the 11th month, that we honor those brave men and women. Be sure to hoist your flags today and let the libs know we still care, even if they don't!

Please scroll down to my previous post about the Disabled American Veterans and do what you can for my comrades who were less fortunate than I. They could use the help and they sure earned it!

South Park - About Last Night ...- Season 12 Episode 12 p1

UPDATE: This video is no longer working, but you may view it in it's entirety here.

South park gives us a glimpse of just what the NObama cultists are really like. Coming from Randy and the other adults of
South Park, it is hilariously funny. In real life, it was abhorrent. The show also gives us a possible reason that McCain lost, ridiculous, but..... I had found this earlier today and YouTube pulled it, but I found this other version. Let's hope it stays up long enough for everyone to enjoy it. I guess Viacom complained, so if they see this one, the same thing will probably happen. If you like this one and want to see the rest, there is a part 2 and part 3. Double click this episode to get to the YOUTUBE page and look to the right under "more from: Wikkidawesomeness."

Eve Of Destruction Video

One of my most favorite songs from back in the mid-sixties, I hope this isn't what we voted for Tuesday, but it is definitely a REAL possibility! Four years will seem like an eternity to me. We are risking an awful lot just so we can experience a black Presidency and make history. History can kiss my ass!

Disabled American Veterans

Tuesday, November 11, 2008, is Veterans Day. What better day to remember all of our veterans, past and present, living and dead. What better day to especially remember our disabled veterans. I decided to write this post to see if maybe I could do more than I usually do on this special day, and that is to increase the impact of my normal contribution by getting people to join me in being as generous as you can.

I have special reasons to donate as much as I can several times a year, but especially at this time of the year. For those who have been following my blog for any length of time, it is not a secret that I am a very PROUD veteran of the Vietnam war. The reason I am proud of it has nothing to do with what I did, but rather because of gulf war vets from the current 2 wars, and the 1991 war and what they have done. Before 1991, I never even spoke of my own service. These newer vets made it possible for us Vietnam vets to again hold our heads high. I feel I owe them a debt of gratitude that goes even beyond what all Americans should feel they owe.

The Disabled American Veterans depends on our donations to make the lives of our disabled heroes better. It is the only reason for their existence. I donate as much as I can to this most worthy organization for two main reasons. First because of the good they do, and second, because, there "but for the grace of God, go I."

If you are a vet, if you are related to a vet, or if you know a vet, wouldn't you want to know that there is an organization out there that is helping them. You could have been disabled, or your related vet could have been disabled, or your friend could have been disabled. If you don't know any disabled vets, consider yourself lucky, but I'm still asking you to consider sending in your donation. ALL AMERICANS owe our disabled vets a lot more than we can ever hope to repay. At the very least, make your down payment on that bill!

This request is not coming from the Disabled American Veterans, nor has it been authorized by them, but I am sure they won't mind. I'd like to suggest you consider 1 days wages. That is probably less than 1/2 % of your yearly pay depending on how many days you work. A small sacrifice in the scheme of things. A much smaller sacrifice than they gave.

Snail mail can be sent to Disabled American Veterans---P.O. Box 14301---Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301, with checks made out to D.A.V., or you can donate on-line at www.dav.org/pp

From this humble and thankful veteran, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for whatever you can do to help. Happy Veterans Day!

Joe

Today's Riddle

Hillary, Biden and Obama were on a donkey, at the edge of a cliff.
The donkey got spooked and jumped off the cliff.

Who was saved?

AMERICA
I stole this somewhere, damned if I can remember where. Thanks to whomever it was.

Dictators Mock Obama's Ignorance

Buyers Remorse

"There are particular moments in public affairs, when the people stimulated by some irregular passion, or some illicit advantage, or misled by the artful misrepresentations of interested men, may call for measures which they themselves will afterwards be the most ready to lament and condemn."

James Madison

Let's pick that statement apart and discover what it means in todays terms. There are particular moments in public affairs(Presidential election of 2008),when the people stimulated by some irregular passion (a burning desire for positive change), or some illicit advantage(lop-sided media coverage), or misled by the artful misrepresentations of interested men (lied to by NObama and his campaign staff), may call for measures (voting for NObama)which they themselves will afterwards be the most ready to lament and condemn(buyers remorse).

I never realized that President Madison was a fortune teller. He sure did predict the scenario we are currently living under. If you buy something and then later realize that you screwed up, you can always sell it and chalk up the loss as an expensive experience. A minor setback, usually with only temporary consequences. Electing the wrong person for President, especially this year, would have drastic and long term consequences for every single American and the world. There is no room for buyers remorse in this decision. Do not buy the sales pitch just because it was so eloquently delivered. Let your friends know how important this one is. You all have an abundance of information to share---share it! I plan to fight to the LAST moment. I will be spending Tuesday out in front of my ward's polling station doing the best I can to get a few more votes.

My questions for the messiah

I don't remember where I first posted this, it was in the comment section of someone's blog. I should have posted it here earlier, but, better late than never. I left in the cusses because------well--------It's how I really feel. Sorry if it offends anyone.

NOBAMA has chewed my f---ing ear off with shit he wanted me to hear, but he has said NOTHING that answers the questions I have for him. I don't want lies about what he will do when he is president when his flimsy record proves he feels just the opposite. I don't want his promises, I want him to answer tough questions, AND I WANT THE PRESS TO ASK THOSE TOUGH QUESTIONS!!!!! We do it every four years. Why is this asshole so special? Why doesn't the MSM want to get to the truth?

1. Why don't you show your real birth certificate to squash the nasty rumors about you not being eligible for the presidency?
2. Why aren't you more forthcoming about your early childhood years attending muslim schools?
3. What were you doing in Pakistan with muslim friends in the early 80's?
4. How did you or your poor mother and grandparents manage to pay for all that fancy, high-cost schooling?
5. Where in the world did you get the cash to buy that house on your meager salary?
6. Why do you continue to shy away from your associations with that laundry list of scum you have been proved to chum with? After all, it's getting awful crowded under that bus.
7. Why do you run away from the term "redistribution of wealth"? You know that is the very core of your whole belief system!

And for the grand finale:

8. Just what are you claiming for experience these days that you think gives you the right to seek the highest office in the land??? You and your campaign slam Sarah Palin for not having experience to be VP, and yet you have even less experience and you want to be KING SHIT!! I DON"T THINK SO!

There are a LOT more questions we Americans would like truthful answers to, but these will do for a start.
